Any Gifts For Christ?

Often humans get so carried away with festivities that they forget the purpose of them. During Christmas gift giving is of supreme importance to many people, but what about a gift for Christ? Consider the following if you celebrate Christmas:

1. What gift will you give Christ for Christmas?
2. Is this a gift Christ would want you to give Him or do you think you should do better?
3. Did you think to do that before or after reading this thread?

Christ Gifts Any

When I was a child... I got really into the spirit of christmas since I had just learned the story of Jesus. I left him my comb and my favorite thing, a My Little Pony toy. I wanted him to have some things that I loved most.. Of course, I hated that comb, so I thought he might want it for whatever. I told my mom and she said it was a good thing to do but Christ didn't need these things. He made the Heaven and the Earth and he made you. But every year I think about that... How important it is to give and let go of idolistic things...

Any Gifts For Christ? Christmas

I remember one Christmas when I was in Girl's in Action at church, we had a birthday party for Jesus. Our teacher sponsored it. We all went to Chuckee-Cheese, which is a pizza place that has an arcade, and we had a cake brought and everything. I can only imagine what the other people though when we started singing 'Happy Birthday' to Jesus. It was such a blast though, and we gave it everything we had.

On a more serious note...

I read a quote that's on this little figurine at my boyfriend's parents' house. It says "What we are is God's gift to us; what we become is our gift to God." That has really stuck with me. God doesn't need our money, he doesn't need our physical labors. He wants our obedience and He wants our love. To me, those are the two greatest gifts we could give God as humans. With obedience and love, everything else just seems to fall into place. smile.gif
