LDS_Forever, while you may be right about your cat feeling depression, I believe that you are wrong. My bet is that your cat was just VERY sick or weak after losing the leg, and that it was just trying to adjust. I kind of doubt that it was feeling depression. I guess it might have been feeling pain, but it shouldn't have if it was amputated correctly, if that was the case...
Sharpshoey
sharpshoey, I had cats all my life, I know when they are in pain and when they feel sad...what about dogs then? How come after a long day of work, when you come home, they jumped and you and start running like crazy and try to kiss you and all that? Isn't that a feeling?.
that sure is a feeling of excitement! Though I understand what sharpshoey is saying. They may feel just general depression, but they will surely not feel self pitty, what we humans tend to do, since that requires much thought about the issue; Oh, no, how could this happen to me? Why me? Why just now? That sort of thing, instead of just an emmidiate reaction of emotions, which is what your cat probably felt. Edited: Smudge on 7th Dec, 2004 - 2:22am
