This animated tale tells of a lonely boy who is adopted by his grandmother, Madame Souza. Trying to make him happy, she decides to train him to compete in the tour de France. Years later, he enters the Tour de France but is kidnapped during the race by a black-coated organization. With her dog Bruno, Madame Souza sets out to save him and meets three odd women called "The Triplets of Belleville."
A really funny tale with odd inventions and exaggerated animation. I loved how the boy was drawn with all the muscles, and the kidnappers with their squareness.

I picked up this movie at the county fair with mild interest but as soon as I watched it, I was addicted and watched it 3 times over that same night. Anyway, I thought the awkward overexaggeration was compelling and completely unique. Madame Souza reminds me of my Video Productions teacher. She even has the shoe with the higher heel for the leg length difference. Really quite amusing. I found the cartooning considerably entertaining, the protagonists with their square like physique and our own small hero with his large muscle play against a scrawny frame, largely overwhelming nose. It all works very nicely with the general style and concept. I give it 4 stars as well! Good topic!
