We have been trying to see this movie for some time. When it came out on DVD, the local video rental place only had one, single, video tape - all the DVDs were bad.
So, the story is about three sisters, two of whom have children. The third, played by Kate Hudson, works in the modelling industry, as an agent. She is very successful, and enjoys a rich nightlife as a single young woman in New York City.
All of this changes when the oldest sister and her husband are killed in an automobile accident. Helen (Kate Hudson) suddenly becomes the guardian of the three children. The movie is about the struggles Helen and the children face because of this overwhelming event.
Joan Cusack plays a supporting role as the other surviving sister. She is the super-mom, who can't understand how her sister could leave the children with Helen, who is obviously unready and unable to handle these children.
Overall, I found this to be a very enjoyable movie. Nothing really surprising in any part of it, just good, solid acting, with a touching storyline.
