Mail Theft

Humans sometimes seek the easy way to gain money and at times it is the illegal activities that cause them to take notice of how advantageous they can be over you and your belongings. Do you take extra measures to secure your mail box and or process for acquiring your mail? Did you ever have an incident where mail was stolen from you or a neighbor?

MAIL THEFT HIGH DURING HOLIDAYS

Packages at the door this time of year mean Christmas gifts, holiday surprises or that ordered item you have been waiting for. But for a thief, those packages mean opportunity.

Theft Mail

This is actual a larger problem than most people realize. As a postal consultant I recommend that anyone that is sending something of value through either USPS, UPS, Fed-Ex, or any other carrier, spend the extra 2 or 3 dollars for a signature confirmation. This will ensure that someone at that address that you send the parcel to did sign for the package. Every carrier service offers this and is at a very small charge. It can be a little bit of a hassel for the receiving party to pick up the package from the designated location if they are not available when delivery is attempted but every carrier does have a pickup station as well as they will reattempt delivery several times before the package is sent back.
