Hiring Illegals - Page 3

This all seems to make sense to me. I do not disagree that we should protect our borders, but I don't see how making half a wall is going to stop this. Not to mention the amount of money that is going to be spent on it. I watched a documentary were they recreated the wall that is going to be made and then asked a group of Mexicans to get under, threw, and over the wall. They were able to do all three in minutes. There has got to be a more realistic solution than this, preferably one that doesn't cost so mutch.

I also agree that illegals are taking our jobs but it has become such a common practice I just gave up on fighting it. The only way to stop all this is if the government actually enforces its laws and actually follows threw on its policies. If how they follow a lot of other policies can be an indication of how they will handle this, my hopes are not high. Otherwise low income Americans are going to need learn how to speak spanish and assimilate into the Mexican culture to find work. This is the boat I find myself in.

Rather off topic, but...
I think this problem (along with the Iraq war) is an example of how our government does not listen to the people but to the almighty dollar. Sadly when the dust settles it would have been vastly cheaper to do the right thing to begin with. It is interesting it seems to me illegals didn't become a huge problem in the media until people started talking about USA giving them all citizenship, interesting.

Illegals Hiring

I have a simple way of securing our borders. Bring all the armed forces men and women from bases over seas and put them on the borders. This way the mexican army can not longer invade the USA by 100 miles in some cases escorting people who pay them into this land with more fire power than the border patrol has.

I think you are actually right on this. Though many may see it as to strong a stance. I think anything short of this will not be effective.

Labor Secretary: more $$ for illegals

Secretary of Labor Hilda Solis has come out in favor of making sure that undocumented workers are given fair wages, and encourages those paid less than minimum wage to contact the government. A brilliant ruse to lure illegals from the shadows? Doubtful - if they were serious about solving the illegal immigration problem, they'd close the border instead of saying 'call me!" Glenn has the audio from Solis and the answer on radio today. Ref. Source 7

Illegals Hiring

What really gets my blood to a boil is there are miles of Arizona that are off limits to US Citizens as part of a national park that we can visit because too many armed Mexicans are escorting illegals into our country. Why are we as Americans allowing this to happen?

The only way that this makes any sense is if the government then turns around and nails the employers for illegal hiring practices...because you just know that they arent paying or holding back any of the normal fees such as Social Security, Workmans Comp, FICA, Local and Federal Taxes, etc...

You can call them what you want...Undocumented Workers, Illegal Aliens, Illegal Immigrants, etc... The fact is that they are here illegally.

Rather off topic, but...
Interestingly enough, last weekend a Japanese Police Officer stopped me and asked me for my identification. He was making sure I was legally in his country.

I see them all as illegals. As far as I am concerned they all should be shot. Maybe that will help insure that they think twice before using the illegal methods for entering our country, You look at other countries around the world. When they catch illegals they are thrown in prison. They do not get rights or the ability to march down the streets protesting how they are being treated.

Will the Mexicans and other illegals go to the USA if there aren't US Citizens ready to hire them right away? Probably not, at least there would be a huge reduction. It seems to me if the US really wants to be serious about stopping illegal immigration then the US authorities needs to be serious about stamping out the hiring of illegals by US citizens as this is truly what encourages the illegal immigration in the first place. Illegals that cannot get work will be more likely to leave the USA on their own for employment elsewhere or not come at all. Please see more of my thoughts here: Source 1
