ground-based laser system designed to warn pilots who have flown into
restricted airspace over the nation's capital.

Airspace Restricted Flying

I think the lasers are a great idea. I believe that a system must be in place to make sure that there is both wireless and physical eye to eye communication before any plane is shot down. I am sure in today's world leaders would not think twice to shoot a plane down, but could you imagine if the person were hasty and did not make the correct checks including a physical look inside the cockpit to see if there is communication problems?
