Zork I was a text parser classic. It opened up a whole new world of interaction between the player and the computer. This was a very big deal in the 80s because before that ping pong and simple accounts recording was all that was available.

I can guess your possible age just by knowing you played Zork. 
Zork was a great game, it got you thinking and did more for the imagination than anything else of the period. It was like reading a book but you could adjust the outcome or at least you thought you could.
