Laurence Fishburne

Laurence Fishburne was born July 30, 1961 in Augusta, Georgia. Born Larry Fishburne, he later changed his name to Laurence in 1991. When he was cast in the title role of Othello in 1995, it was the first time an African American had been cast as that character in a theatrical film. He has made many movies, including some of my favorite:

The Matrix Trilogy (my favorite)

Fishburne Laurence

Oh my goodness, he is one of my favorite actors of all time! I thought Othello was excellent! He has good in Apocalypse Now and The Color Purple. Loved him in Cadence and Higher Learning, and thought he was intriguing in Mystic River. Oh course, The Matrix Trilogy was my favorite of his movies. His character was also one of my favorites! I am going to see Assault on Precinct 13 when I can. I'm sure he will be spectacular in that as well.
