This is frightening, as I have children in scouting. Especially now that there are girls in the scouts there is a new vulnerable population. It's upsetting they are fighting against the statute of limitations being raised although I know why they feel they have to. But it doesn't instill confidence. They do have some sensible rules in place nowadays though. For example, kids aren't allowed to be alone with less than two adults and kids also have to be in groups of two or more. And they do regular training for the adults and the kids about abuse.

Boy Scouts of America's plan to exit bankruptcy leaves an average of $6,000 per abuse survivor. Survivors say it's 'woefully' inadequate. Boy Scouts of America is proposing to pay roughly $220 million toward a trust to compensate tens of thousands of former members who say they were abused during their time as scouts, according to a statement from the committee that represents survivors in the case.
