Pro-american Sentiments
I know of a few bloggers and commentators that are distinctly pro-US, yet are natives of, and residents of, other countries. So here are a couple of them.

The fact that you do put up with them, with a smile, exemplifies the inner beauty of the American soul. Thanks America! And then there's the fact that you give money to others in the event of a natural disaster, such as the Tsuanami, regardless of race or religion, yet no-one ever gives you a dime when you have a natural disaster. Both the government and the people individually have unmatched generosity. And even rich people in America tend to give their money to charities instead of passing it on to their kids, like people in most other countries. Thanks America! And then there's the fact that after 9/11, instead of nuking the entire Middle East in response, you instead freed 52 million people from state-slavery/holocaust/institutionalized rape, and then poured BILLIONS into those countries, on top of the BILLIONS that the war cost itself, plus the sacrifice of your countrymen. All while everyone is accusing you of stealing oil. I don't know why these ingrates don't thank you for all you have done. Maybe it's because they're ingrates? Maybe with education their children will thank you. Just like European children thank you. Hmmmm. Hmmmm. Nevermind about that. Let me thank you instead. Thanks America! |

There are others. In particular, I have read quite a few Iraqi blogs that are distinctly pro-US. They are definitely worth reading.

Wow, thanks for all the great links! Its nice to know that not everyone hates us. Its really not fair either if you think about it. Most people hate America based on what they here in the media. Think about it, allot of US people have not liked Iraq in the past. This was because of the media, not because of something that anyone really experienced. Its nice to see that while America doesn't always do the right thing, our hearts are usually in the right place.
Pro-american Sentiments History & Civil Business Politics
I wanted to add my two cents on the good things I see in the US as an Argentinian who has traveled around and see other countries. Here a few points, not in any particular order:
1) Patriotism: I think is awesome. I love the way everybody makes good use of the flag, I think a flag should be such a important symbol in the life of the citizen of any country and I think Americans do a great job on this. I like the fact that they are willing to defend their country no matter what and the fact that they are proud of being Americans.
2) Service: No matter what Americans say about "service" in their country, I think service in the US is great, specially at stores. The first time I went to the States and I entered a store, I was shocked to see how everybody was so nice and willing to help. I was glad to even spend my money there because of the good service I got!. I did not experience good service in Trinidad or here in Argentina.
3) Good deals: Oh my gosh, I just love this of the US (even more if we are talking about food places! like Taco Bell). I just love to see the advertisements of "Get 100000 tacos for 2 dollars" and things like that *laughs*. I love the offers and get "free" this or that. It is amazing. I miss that a lot.
4) Thrift Shops: One of my favourites places when I lived in the States. You can find treasures in there! and everything so cheap!. I love it.
5) Junk Food: I am a junk food lover and the States is the place for it!. Oh my goodness, the junk food there is amazing...my favourite is Taco Bell and Mc Donalds, I could live there and eat that food every single day!. The chinese food is amazing too.
6) Opportunities: It is very hard for me to understand why so many children in the US go hungry every night, I did not live there for long (just two years) but it seems unbelievable that some people over there will actually not have enough to eat in a country that welcomes progression and have such a variety of opportunities for growth.
There are many more, these are only some of the things I love about the US.
