Medieval GM posts story here. The Village Elders are in need of a small party to check the South East for a mysterious occurrence of large fires that have been happening recently within that area.

The Game Master says...

You prepare yourselves and then arrive at the designated place for the time given by the dark maiden known only as "Wanderer". As you come over the hill you see no one there. You begin looking around and begin to wonder if you have been setup, but as you draw closer to the bottom of the hill which is besides a clearing and some trees you notice the well clad figure coming from the South.

Karniest and Ragnvold are both awed by the obvious beauty of this woman, and yet her fierce demeanor seems closer to the barbaric stock of East City. She walks with confident stride and seems to know her objective. She stops some 30 feet from your position and then looks around for signs of activity. She then steps closer.

As she draws to within 20 feet she asks for you to show her your 10 gps by placing it in front of you.

GM: Say what you will do now.

The Game Master says...

Ragnvold grips his sword tightly in his right hand and his hand axe in his left, he then shouts,

"My Sword is your prize should you win. It is a good blade and will easily fetch 10gp at the nearby market. I hope your journey did not tire you too much, you will need all your energy if you hope to bring me down. What are the rules?"

To which the dark maiden replies,

"Am I a dog that you have no gold? Did we not agree that ten pieces of gold will be for the winner and you come here with a rusty sword and your smell of vermin to battle against me?"

Wanderer steps back on one leg almost to a squat position and then leaps forward and towards Ragnvold while at the same time pulling something from her back.

GM: The first attack will be deadly, however it will only be to subdue. For the sake of time, we will equate the percentage ability of both of you. Roehug needs to roll Dice to see if he is able to stop Wanderer's attack (he must get over 80% or 81 and over) - if he does then he may hit back with either a choice to subdue or inflict damage.

The name of the roll is: 'Ragnvold rolls to parry an attack'

If he misses then Wanderer would have subdued him and have his life in her hand. Based on the dice roll you will know what you should post in the next Party Order ahead of time.

The Game Master says...

GM: the result of '1' is obtained by Roehug's Character and thus the story follows...

In slow motion...

Using her right hand Wanderer pulls from her back what seems to be a special edged weapon that looks like a sword, but flexible like a bow, you cannot tell what it is because she twirls it so quickly. Her left hand already has a very large dagger that could almost pass for a short sword.

She charges forward and Ragnvold gets ready to swing with his axe and sword only to discover that instead of standing to fight she rolls forward like a boulder. She passes him quickly while coming to a lunged position inflicting a blow to the inside of his hamstring thus making him fall backwards. She however does not wait for his fall for she brings him down sooner by placing her hand near his neck (with her large dagger) and forces him down better than gravity can do.

It is at this point that Ragnvold knows all is lost. It is a terrible way to be defeated...

After her leaving you find yourselves wondering what to do next.

GM: 5:30pm. Say what you will do now.

The Game Master says...

You stand there doing nothing. You notice that as the darkness approaches you are a good distance from the Village. You wonder if you will be able to get any sleep tonight since the day has been wasted yet again.

GM: Why this 'stop and go' kind of action? Lack of leadership? Party order is supposed to be updated daily. Armstrong is no longer part of the Party as his count was deleted for spamming.

The Game Master says...

You journey to the Village's Tavern and not a moment too soon as the darkness of night has fallen upon everything. Inside the Tavern is the usual routine of laughter, drunk babbles, wenches serving and of course now you are there, standing at the doorway wondering where you fit in.

GM: You need to be more specific when you post. I can only tell you what happens, not what your character does. Please see the Medieval Thread about 'Multi-tasking'.

The Game Master says...

Still standing at the door the people began to stop one by one and look your way, then after a moment, the bar tender yells at you,

"Ye be drinking or gapping like a mummy with no jaw bone?"

Some people laugh, but others do not take kindly to your lack of movement.

GM: I tire of these lengthy Party Order posts, be serious if you really want to play Medieval.

The Game Master says...

Ragnvold is left awed by the fact that his supposed companion and leader has just walked off, waving good-bye and saying something about tiring after 'this' life. Ragnvold now stands at the door and by this time people look at you as though you were mad, they then slowly resume their Tavern activities as though you were not even there.

GM: Ragnvold you are alone in this adventure, it will be necessary for you to post Party Order for the story to continue or wait until others join in.

The Game Master says...

Ragnvold turns around and leaves discouraged. The doors of the Tavern close bitterly upon you... a man defeated by a woman, abandoned by a companion and now left as a lunatic by the Tavern drunks.

GM: Scenario closed for now until new Party can be assembled.
