[medieval] Bodyguard

The Game Master says...

Upon a passing visit to a friend within the outskirts of the Village on a dull afternoon you find that he has good news and tells you of a job available as some sort of bodyguard to a man living nearer to East City. You think to yourself that this may be finally an opportunity for employ.

GM: Form your party and say what you will do now. This adventure can start with as little as two serious players (more are welcomed of course) that are going to be here to post each day. If you are not committed please DO NOT participate. When party order is posted by whomever is the leader then this story will continue.

The Game Master says...

Mud and Sidraul venture to the house of their friend for details of the job at hand and you find out that the employer happens to be in the Village and will be dining in the tavern this morning.

You think to act quickly, but you have not been to the Market to buy some needed items as yet, you wonder if in doing so you may miss your opportunity and at the same time you would hate to leave without it.

GM: Say what you will do now.

The Game Master says...

You journey quickly to tavern in search of the man described and sure enough, there he is... a pale dark small man with the appearance of old yet elegant clothing.

You introduce yourselves and claim able to do the job.

He looks you over it a very diplomatic way and then says,

"Ah yes, it be the very thing I am looking for, ye two that is, see here, I be looking for an escort to and from East City. I have been told that the journey is rather difficult and there are those of the dark profession who would seek to steal what wealth I do have. I will be willing to pay 10gps total for an escort to East City and then back to here. It should not take more than a day. Have ye horses?"

GM: Say what you wish to do now, including responses and any questions you may have for him.

The Game Master says...

Sidraul speaks up,

"Well sir, we're glad you think we can help you. We agree to do the job, but unfortunately we need to go to the market first to buy some equipment to ensure that the trip to East City and back will be without incidents. Why don't you sir finish your meal and maybe have a drink 'till we go to the market ... or if you think, one of us could remain here, while the other will go there to make the purchases."

He nods his head in agreement while you continue,

"Also I would like to ask sir, if you think we should buy something that will be handy for the mission, or maybe, before going to the market, you'd like to tell us some more - what you consider appropriate - related to the job."

To which he replies,

"I am no expert in this thing being that I am a merchant, but I did ask thee, have ye horses?"

GM: Say what you will do now.

The Game Master says...

You explain your circumstances to which the man agrees. SidRaul then sets off to buy more items than he will ever possibly make from this job. After the space of an hour you return to a grumpy man that says,

"Thou art worst than my wife, do ye enjoy such shopping sprees?"

He then shakes his head and grins. He motions with his hands for you to follow him outside to his covered wagon where a man sits on top ready to drive. Your new employer goes into his wagon and you are told merely to follow along and make sure he remains safe, then he thinks a bit and asks,

"Ye two know how to journey to East City, yes?"

GM: Party stats have been updated. Raul, did you make exchange for GPs? Email me about it. Thanks.

The Game Master says...

Sidraul says,

"We haven't been to East City yet, but we have seen the map of the region and I thing we will be able to get you, sir safely there! I think the most dangerous part of the travel will be through the woods, so we better keep our eyes opened ... not that the rest of the journey couldn't give us surprises. By the way sir, if you don't mind my asking, were there troubles in your way from East City to the village?"

The man, in an expressionless way says,

"No, okay, let us be on our way, my teamster knows the way."

The wagon moves and you are off at a moderate pace towards the North East of the Village and then on to East City. You should be there before nightfall if all goes well.

You belly rumbles a bit, now would be a good time for a snack you think to yourself, but you would have to stop to accomplish this without risking ins some falling out of the way.

GM: Say what you will do now.

[medieval] Bodyguard

The Game Master says...

Despite the urge to eat, you press on. You devise a plan where one of you will lead and the other trail. You travel all day and everything goes well. By sun down you are now within territory that you have never before seen. Ahead you see East City, a place that is unknown to you, but from the looks of it you can tell it is much bigger than the Village and very lively too.

You enter the city gates and pass the guards who take the time to look you over and then wave the teamster onwards. You then stop by a tavern where your employers seeks refreshment. You are told to see to yourselves for quarter moon (about half hour).

GM: Say what you will do now.

The Game Master says...

"Sir, if you don't mind, we'll grab something to eat, 'cause our stomach haven't seen some food for quite awhile now", says Sidraul, with relief in his voice, relief given by the fact that they arrived safely in East City and that they have the chance to eat.

The man nods quickly as though his interest in what you are saying is of no avail. Sidraul continues,

"Also if you don't mind sir, after we eat, and if there is still time, we'll ask around if anyone knows of potential dangers on the road to the village."

The man then looks up at the moon and then into your eyes,

"Whatever pleases thy soul, the night is yet young."

GM: You need to indicate where you will eat, what you will eat and where you will go to speak with people in relation to your current position
