The first pallette knife I bought, the metal knife part came right out of the wooden handle and it is no good. The second apparently has a thin metallic top layer on the knife that is peeling off, likely right into my paint, which is no good. So this is a warning to all - excl.gif don't buy a cheap pallette knife!

As for the rest of my tools - I like Staedtler drawing pencils (the blue ones) and have been told by other artists that they are the best, so I do not doubt. This is not brands, but I prefer charcoal pencils to sticks and vine. Has anywone ever tried conte crayons? I also hear that conson paper is the best for charcoal and pastel drawings, so I stick with that (It is also all they sell at our bookstore so I guess I don't have much of a choice!).
