Longest Run

What's the longest you have run without stopping at all?

For this to count you must have been either been in a full run or jog. Walking or stopping to take a short rest does not count. You must have been in constant movement with one foot completely leaving the ground while running or jogging.

For me it was 12 miles.

biggrin.gif I hate to run. When I was in the Marine Corps I had to run 1 1/2 miles in under 15 minutes and it was all I could do to manage it. I used to do it in 12-13 minutes. I really, really hate it! They now have to run 3 miles (just like the men), but since I am not in the Marine Corps any longer, I don't have to run anything!!!!! biggrin.gif

I've only done 5 kilometers which would be around 3 miles. I'm not big into running but i should. It would really help my asthma and keep me in shape.

Leirsgrios, there is a woman at my health club where I swim who says swimming has helped her asthma a great deal so, whether it be running or some other form of exercise, I think it probably would be very good for your asthma.

The thing about that is she is just strengthening her lungs so the asthma has less effect. I have asthma myself, and my doctor told me, if I could do rigorous exercise, aerobic exercise, it would be really good, to build up my lung strength.

As for my longest run, for cross country our coach dropped us off 23 miles out of town and told us to get back to school. (This was a boarding school, so I needed to get back to get dinner.) So I really had to run that. Although, it is without stopping.... so I guess I can't say the entire 23 miles. Probably 12-15... somewhere in there.

I really need to do that, I'm not a distance runner at all. I'm a sprinter by far! I run a 4.8 40. Not bad I might say.
