It was only a few hours ago that the news broke in to tell us that he had died. I guess I most remember him for his covering of 9-11. All the news casters that I have grown up watching are starting to retire and sadly, pass away. The likes of Tom Brokaw and Peter Jennings where the world news anchors I remember listening too in order to write reports on world events for school

I was very shocked to learn that Peter Jennings had passed away so soon after announcing he had lung cancer. He was the face of ABC News and will be sorely missed. I was also surprised to learn he was Canadian-born and later became a US citizen. My father-in-law was also very fond of him as a reporter and announcer.
