Who wouldn't fall for such a clever trick?
Reuters - An Italian couple stole 50,000 euros from a woman in the Sicilian city of Palermo after convincing her they were vampires who would impregnate her with the son of the Anti-Christ if she did not pay them.

It makes you wonder if anything else was not right with this woman, after all she was 47 - that's not old. When I heard the news on the radio, I had just assumed that the woman was elderly, as they are more succeptable to fraud like this. It is disturbing that the robbery took place over 4 years. I don't quite know how I would have reacted if I was approached in this manner. I would hope I'd have enough sense to stop it before I spent my entire life savings.
This is too bad. People that get taken advantage of is never good. It sounds like this lady has been watching way too much "Angel/Buffy" to fall for a story like that. Common sense should play a role here but I guess you never know!

It is a great shame that people like this prey on others who fall for such things. It makes me wonder where lies their conscience. As for the Angel/Buffy angle. Anything that dramatises such things causes a chain reaction. Look only to the sudden increase in Wicca when Willlow dabbled with it.
As for vampires the sooner people realise they exist but not as the Hollywood romanticised view the better. The illness that are the vampiric association are not what people would like to suffer from.
