Government Proposes New SUV Fuel Standards
AP - With gas prices continuing to rise, the Bush administration on Tuesday proposed new rules to compel auto manufacturers to make pickup trucks, minivans and some sport utility vehicles more fuel efficient. Environmentalists said the plan would do little to wean the nation from its dependence on foreign oil.

Standards Fuel S U New
Greater fuel efficiency is not the answer. Government officials continue to beat at the same lame door that provides the largest donations. As long as we are at the mercy of middle east oil, we are going to have gasoline problems. We need to be dependent on other sources or develop other fuel types. But as long as our government keeps the same mind set, they will continue to work towards greater fuel efficiency which will happen in baby steps and not nearly good enough.
