Study Says Male Chromosome Sticking Around
AP - The human Y chromosome - the DNA chunk that makes a man a man - has lost so many genes over evolutionary time that some scientists have suspected it might disappear in 10 million years. But a new study says it'll stick around.

You will have to excuse my complete insensitivity to this issue. The 'imminent demise' theory states that the Y chromosome will complete be evolved out of humanity within ten, count them, ten million years. As much as I care about future generations, I really cannot find concern in my heart for my offspring, if any there be, ten million years away. While its interesting to hear that the Y chromosome will be sticking around, its not something I care to celebrate about. By the time ten million years rolls around, we will have been extinct or have technology to mutate our own genetic pool to determine the species (male or female) of our unborn children.
