Have you ever used the Red Cross services or are you aware of what they can provide to you in times of emergency?

There is also an option for you to become a volunteer:

Red Cross volunteers work directly with people, serve on boards of directors, serve as managers, advisors, and provide behind the scenes support. [..] Helping others feels good, and helps you feel good about yourself. Your local Red Cross can work with you to provide rewarding experiences, opportunities to utilize your talents, or provide training to help you serve your community.

Wow, I never realized how much they did! I viewed them as a group that helped with blood and medical supplies, but that doesn't begin to cover the actual help they give, especially in disasters. They help in medical services, rebuilding, feeding people, clothing people, and so many other services. They really are a life saving organization on so many levels.

American Red Cross History & Civil Business Politics

I live in Hurricane Country, so I know exactly how wonderful the Red Cross can be in times of need. On top of that, I am certified by the Red Cross in CPR and First Aid. They do a lot of stuff in our community, particularly during Hurricane Season. It's kind of sad, though, because the Red Cross building looks like a decrepit, abandoned building. They have a sign outside, though, that counts down the days of hurricane season we have left.

Red Cross: "Irrelevant" That Blood Drive Location Does Abortions

A representative of the Red Cross is digging a deeper hole for the charitable group, which is facing an outpouring of criticism over the fact that it held a blood drive in Columbus, Ohio at a local abortion business.

The American Red Cross held the blood drive at the Complete Healthcare for Woman (CHfW) abortion facility on Cleveland Ave.

Ruth Yorston, Executive Director of Greater Columbus Right to Life, says the blood drive is another way for the abortion clinic to make itself look like a legitimate medical facility. Ref. Source 8
