I do not think the people will live even if the amount is paid. They will bail head off and blow it once they are "Safe". I think plans need to be made to over take and capture the pirates.

I believe that we should not allow the pirates to get by with this at all. I would not allow them to negotiate at all. After all they are going to do what they think will give them the best profit.

Well at least it looks like some action is going to come. I do think military presence will help but I hope the shoot and sink before the scum get away.

So now we will have to start escorting our own ships through this area just to keep them safe from pirates? I think a few war ships can go in and remove this threat very easily.
