Portal New

I really like the look of the new portal myself. I played with it a little bit a few nights ago. Navigating seems to be very simple and it is in a very reader friendly layout. It did bug me a little bit that when I clicked on a forum link or a search link that I came back to my standard medieval themed page. It just made it look like jumping way off track or something.

Sorry about two posts in a row but I wanted to check on something. I know you are still working on the portal but I was curious if you were going to be putting a spell check option on the shoutbox. I had to hit google to check my spelling a moment ago so I wouldn't make a stupid mistake for all to see.

Portal New

The New Portal has a lot of work to do, just getting it to become compatible with our custom Skins was a chore in itself before Christmas. Now that everything is winding down I will look at attacking it again. I have not thought about a spell check for the shout box, I will consider it, although, since the text there is temporary there is no need for grammar details. The shoutbox here does not have this facility either.

Portal New

Updated & Optimized

The New Portal will be the push for this year. I have already updated it some for the Skins and will be implementing more stuff in the near future. As for the shout box - that is a negative Bwren, I did attempt, but met too much opposition to make it worthwhile. The shout box here does not have a spell checker either, so just be careful. If you run into trouble please send me an Email, keep this thread for feedback only, not support.

New Portal

The single best thing I could imagine in the portal would be a link directly to the "hot topics" search. That is always the first thing I do when I enter the forum, and when I go through the portal that means I have to go through two screens before I get the current hot topics.

New Portal

You mean the latest articles in the middle, the 'New Posts' link to your right and the latest headline posts to your left is not enough? What would be the purpose really of having the New Portal if all the links simply point back to the main Forum? However, I have indulge and so instead of the New Posts link acquiring the New Posts alone, it will also encompass all the hot Topics for the last 24 hours.

On another note: I have added a new Block to the right side: Arcade Stats, so you can be reminded of the current Arcade Champion (that is especially for you Bwren), latest game, latest score, etc. I am also working on other aspects of it so that new Members can see the Community from a different angle and / or you can have a new Home Page to book mark if you so desire.
