EDITORIAL: A SAD 'NO CHILD' FAILURE
A sad 'No Child' failure Last week, a federal judge in Michigan threw out a lawsuit challenging the federal No Child Left Behind Law. The ruling was a blow to Utah, which has been among the most vocal opponents of the law.

Behind Left Child No
I completely understand and support Utah's reasons for not liking the No Child Left Behind law. It gives more and more power to the Federal government and takes it away from the states. But in some places, this law has done well. In my area of the midwest, our school district, outside of the small town I live in, routinely fail state requirement exams. Since no child left behind, all of them have raised their state grades and the graduation rates have slowly gone up. Its the lesser of two evils choice, government control, or failing education. In the long run, neither is a good decision.
