'ACCOUNTABILITY' THEME OF WORLD AIDS DAY

Thursday is World AIDS Day, and organizers are marking the event by encouraging governments and the international community to meet their commitments in fighting the disease. As Africa struggles to cope with an alarming AIDS epidemic, one group has
found a way to treat patients in one third world country with the kind of success usually seen only in the best medical centers in the U.S.

While I support the movement of accountability, that we all have a responsibility to rid the world of aids, I hardly would classify it as a celebration. But I cant think of a different place to put it. So heres to trying to stamp out another incurable disease.

Having a world AIDS celebration is insane, but I can see the point of warning the public about the possibilities of carries of the disease among the populous.

If serious effort is being given to solving the AIDS problem, why is quarantine not even getting consideration. Having cholera, TB, typhoid, or any other disease isn't celebrated or considered a "right", in fact a number of these are treated in an isolation environment. This method seems to halt or severely hinder the spread of the diseases in question, and I have to wonder why it hasn't been utilized in dealing with AIDS.
