Now see, this is a good example of why you should get and take your own medicine!

However, her husband was a piece of human trash and deserved to die. He mentally, sexually, and physically abuse her for eight years. He even kept tabs on her driving milage. Had I been on the jury, I may have voted not guilty based on that alone.

I have to question your comments just a little bit. I am all for capital punishment myself for domestic crimes and believe that he, if he were alive, should have to pay dearly if not with his life for his violence, however she chose to stay with him for those eight years. I understand that fear in many cases keep people from doing what they should, but it is still something that she could have gotten help for.

I still agree that he had it coming, but this is definitely a premeditated act of violence on her part. How can any act of retaliation that is premeditated be anything other than murder?

It is definately a touchy subject, to say the least. He was a scum bag, at least that's what we have been told by the woman who murdered him. If he was guilty of all the things she said he was, which I have no reason to doubt her, then he did deserve to be adequately dealt with. I do not condone any abuse of any sort, but I do believe in following the system.

Being abused is a scary situation, and most women are frightened into silent submission. To go to the proper authorities oftentimes scares women because they fear that it will only endanger them more, or they don't want to admit that they are truly being abused. That's why so many women oftentimes find themselves pushed to these limits.

I do think she should receive some sort of punishment for her actions because she killed a human being. I think she needs to use her experience and share it with other women, talking to them about the proper steps to take when being abused, be it physically, emotionally, or sexually. Neither a man or a woman should ever be placed in a situation where they feel that their last resort to protecting themselves is killing the person who abuses them. There are safety options they can take, and it won't land them in jail.

I am always leery about cases where a woman kills her husband or lover and claims abuse. While 95% of these claims are in fact true, I think there are some cases, and it has been proven, where claiming abuse is an easy way to get out of the murder. I mean it is her word against a dead guy's. Of course each case has to be treated individually, but I disagree with comments where someone says there is no reason to not believe her. There are plenty of reasons not to believe the woman; one being that she is up for murder.

While I feel very sorry for this woman if she is telling the truth, and she has been pushed to the extreme limits, I feel that you really have to keep an open mind on the subject.
It has, as already been pointed out, been proved several times before, that some women will make these allegations, to help 'back them out of a corner'.

It is a shame that the minority of liars spoil it for the people who are truthful, this is one of the flaws with being human!

I was curious if there was any evidence produced to show that the abuse actually happened. Was there any documentation (witnesses, police reports, etc)? I know being in an abusive relationship can be an extremely difficult experience and it's hard to say what should be done in that situation. I don't think I would have taken the route this wife did. But that's hard to say not being in her situation. I wish she could have found a better alternative. I feel bad for her family and the husband's family. Both sides lost in this situation.
