Releasing Killers Into Society

When a government trains a soldier, they in fact train someone to be a killer, a professional killer. After his/her service is done, this professional killer is released into society and expected to blank all their 'killing' experience and embrace a more mundane civilian task, but what if the training is still in them, what about the desire to act it out? Is it a problem, how can society deal with some professional killers among hundreds who have this problem and cannot control it?

I do not seeing this being a genuine problem. The military does teach a person to become a professional and proficient killer in many cases of survival and strategic planning. But in this training from my understanding, there are a lot of behavioral aspects that are also amongst this. As you gain power you are often forced to gain respect for that power and I believe that the modern military has taken this into account very well. Yes there are very possibly some people that have a much harder time dealing with the scaring that is often caused during this type of scenario however there are many others that are able to adapt to a more civil type of living with no problem at all.

Although you do not get 100's of ex-soldier psychos running around gun happy after a war, you do get 1 or 2 of them that make it seem that way. One reason this thread is very intriguing is because it falls in line with a recent number of crimes related to someone who was either currently in the military or a vet. Just as there is a boot camp to prepare human minds for combat, maybe there should be some kind of detox camp to prepare them to go back into society afterwards?

Society Killers Releasing

I think that the military needs to take a more active role in determining if a soldier being released is really able to re-enter society. The problem I see is that the military is willing to train them to be killers, but then dump them off into society. Its not fair to the soldier who has been emersed in battle to be expected to just forget that life and fall in line with society. I think the problem only comes with a couple, most are just fine when they get out, I happen to know many in my age group. But the military has a responsibility to find the few that can't handle it and help prevent bad things from happening.

So what happens to those who can't handle it and, can't be made to handle it? Those who have embraced the military life style with such abandon, that when they reenter society they can't adapt. What does the military do when they find out they can't help them. Do they Incarcerate them for what they might do?
