Depression - Page 7

You can overcome depression by doing things that make you happy. For clinical depression you need to see a professional because that will requires someone outside of your box to show you a better way because you cannot see it on your own.

New research has identified a common pattern of brain activity that may be behind low mood feelings, particularly in people who have a tendency towards anxiety. It is very easy to become depressed if you are not positively motivating yourself each day. It is even harder if you are in a negative environment.

Combating the stigma: These states have the highest rates of depression and suicide. Utah suffered the nation’s highest rate of major depression in 2017, according to the University of Washington’s Institute for Health Metrics and Evaluation. Meanwhile, seven of the 10 states with the highest suicide rates in 2016 were Mountain West states, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. Montana had the highest suicide rate, followed by Alaska, Wyoming, New Mexico and Utah. Leaders are working to combat the stigma of mental illness in a region that values independence and self-reliance. Source 1e.

I'm surprised Utah scored the highest for depression. I thought it would be one of the heavily populated states like California or New York.
