BAKER, California (AP) -- An artist who chained his legs together to draw a picture of his legs wrapped in chains hopped 12 hours through the desert after realizing he lost the key and couldn't unlock the restraints, authorities said.

Once again, another extraordinary candidate for the 2006 Darwin Awards! Of course he didn't die so he can only get an honorary mention. However, I expect he will compete for the award in the future. How do you lose the only key you have to unchaining your legs? And he was out there with no cell phone in the desert? What was he thinking?
