Teens always seem to be looking for a way to get that "high" feeling, and now I think I've officially heard it all. There is a new trend going around the US that is known as the Choking Game where they choke each other to the point of passing out to achieve that feeling of being high. This runs many dangers including possible brain damage and the possibility of a stroke.

Unfortunately, this has been going on for some time now. In my freshman year, about four years ago, I remember two boys doing such a thing. One was choked until his face was beet red and his eyes rolled back into his head. The onlookers laughed. I was kind of disturbed. The guy came to after a minute, grinning wickedly like he accomplished something great. He probably could've killed himself in the process.
Sigh...
That's probably the worst side effect of this so-called "game" -- Death!
I can't imagine anyone allowing another person to choke them half to death for a "high," or agreeing to choke another person that way. That's just sick, in my opinion, and just as poorly thought out as taking drugs.

Well, this game is not new. I was doing this in junior high and high school. Its not really choking at all, which is cutting off the air supply, but cutting off the blood supply to the brain. Kids put their hands on either side of the next to cut off the blood supply after hanging their head between their knees. The resulting effect creates a dream like state for a few seconds afterwards that is some what hypnotic and trance like. This game is so bad because you are literally depriving your brain of life giving blood.
