The Chronicles Of Narnia

This series written by C.S. Lewis is one of my favorites of all time! This holiday season, the motion picture will be released here in the USA. I've seen some previews and it looks *wonderful*! So, of course, now I need to re-read the books and introduce my daughter to the series -- she's just the right age now, in my opinion, to really enjoy the whole idea of another world "through the wardrobe." We will start with Book 2, The Lion, The Witch, & The Wardrobe, because I think it will intrigue her.

I can hardly wait to get started!

Narnia Chronicles The

I love these books. I read The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe back when I was in grade school many years ago and loved it then. Of course, I didn't get the symbolism back then. To me it was just a fun story. However, it did introduce me to C.S. Lewis and I've read many of his wonderful books.

I now own the complete collection of the Chronicles of Narnia and I love them all. I'm also looking forward to the movie coming out. Maybe I should re-read the books also. smile.gif

My daughter is 7 and is reading the Redwall series. I know that my brother got her all the Narnia books for Christmas and it's been an age since I read The Lion, Witch and Wardrobe. Any pointers on introducing these?

I'd certainly be open to any suggestions. Thanks!

Wow, your 7 year old daughter is reading the redwall series? Thats impressive, that series is not one I would have thought 7 year olds would enjoy. The book has a lot of dialect and even I have a hard time reading parts of it. If she like talking animals, tell her about Mr. Tumnus, and the badgers, and Aslan the lion. If your daughters intelligent enough to read redwall then she will love The Chronicles of Narnia.

Narnia Chronicles The

I was either nine or ten when I first read the series. I found them on my dad's bookshelf in a boxed set. This was before the Magicians Nephew was placed at the beginning of the series, it was still the last book. I think any child or adult for that matter will enjoy the Chronicles of Narnia. I have actually read them three times, and just purchased them for Christmas for my nephew.

The Chronicles Of Narnia

I remember I was in third grade and we watched the old animated Lion witch and wardrobe(Excuse the abbreviation, but thats just a long title.) That movie left a mark on my soul. A couple years later I found out it was a book. So I begged my parents to buy it for me. Then I found out it was a series of books. More begging, more buying.eventually I owned the whole set. All the books were just so great. First I read them in order from Magicians Nephew to Last battle and got the story that way. Then, a couple years later after memories got sufficiently dull enough, I read it again, this time in the order it was written. Every couple of years I read the books again. Every couple of years I find something new about the story that I didn't catch before, some minor plot element that makes everything come together in just the right way. C. S. Lewis gave me whatever it was that Gene Roddenberry gave all those "trekkies." I don't know what it is but it is but The Chronicles of Narnia commands a large portion of my life.
