Do you believe that the United States of America still has a divine purpose to expand its doctrinal borders known as "Manifest Destiny"?

Destiny Manifest
I think that Manifest Destiny is no longer valid, but we still seem to behave that way. Instead of going away, its more or less just changed and become more of a reason to go police everyone. Right or wrong, we are still stationed all over the world implying a sense of destiny to not so much take land and expand our borders, but to expand our influence across the globe. While its not the same principle, its the same in spirit if you ask me.
