Finally he does go to sleep and dreams of roaming through the bushes and forests with his new horse.
In the morning he rises, washes his face, clears his throat and checks his horse. He is still very happy about his new friend.
"Today I will go hunting", he says to himself with a beaming smile. He begins to look for all his necessary equipment.
Tanis saddles his horse and puts his bow and fresh arrows from the blacksmith in his quiver. He mounts and starts out for the forests.
Instead of going to the same dull place he always goes Tanis looked for some new country to hunt now that he had a horse distance was not much of an issue.
Finding some virgin forests Tanis gets off his horse, ties the reigns to a tree and begins scouting for a place to hunt. He does not want to be too far from his horse so he makes an imaginary radius to work from.
"This should be some good hunting. Maybe I can catch something big enough to feed the entire village at least for a couple of days."
Tanis gets ready for the hunt again but because he is in a new area he takes some time to check for animal trails so he can look for the best spot.
He goes near a stream where there is a small crossing and what seems to be many animal tracks. The vantage point from a hill provides the right angle should any creature come that way.
