United States fashion irritates me, at least from the female perspective. In order for me to be able to dress modestly, I usually have to buy clothing that swamps me and hope that it shrinks. If I try to buy an article of clothing that is actually my size, it's either too tight for style, too low cut, too high cut, or too see through. Showing what God gave you is the "in" thing to do. I have several dress shirts that just look massive on me, because the next size down would have been up to my belly button. When I go to the local mall, I'm astounded at watching what some of these girls are wearing, and appalled that their parents would let them out of the house. I see people wearing clothing with less cloth than my bathing suit.
The past two years, though, I have been so thankful to see some of the more 50s style skirts coming back into fashion. I would never buy skirts because they were tight and high, which is not me. But now I am able to actually go out and buy cute little skirts that knee length or below.
I don't really know how accurate a comparison would be between the dress she is wearing and a normal person dressing in the USA, but we do have skimpy issues here. Edited: BabyBlues on 22nd Mar, 2006 - 1:45am
