I don't get it, I would like to believe the cover of the Bible was made out of metal or something? All those injuries using a book?

Police in North Carolina said they arrested the woman after leaving the man and the woman, with bruises and abrasions, of Biblical proportions.
The arrest report said that Evelyn Mills Moore, 57, of the 100 block of Saddlebrook Court in Kings Mountain, hit the other woman numerous times over her body with her fist, and beat her with a Bible on her left arm.
The alleged victim was left with bruises and abrasions to the head, face and arms after the incident on Saturday, police said.

Bible With Beating Arrested Woman
Well, this woman probably wanted to teach them a holy lesson! Apart from cheap jokes, a hard cover would probably be enough to cause serious bruisings. But maybe the most serious injuries were not inflicted with the bible: that's just a good trick to make it to the headlines.

Woman Arrested After Beating With A Bible History & Civil Business Politics
I have been hit with a book before and some hard cover books can do serious damage if hit with repeatedly. Take anything hard or semihard and hit the same area on anyone and you can get some seriously damage done.
I think this lady needs to learn that if you dislike someone or something that violence is not always the answer.
