Six Flags Great Adventure has the world's largest rollercoaster, accelarating from 0-128 miles per hour in 3.5 seconds and climbing to 456 feet. Check this rollercoaster at rcdb.com and type in Kingda Ka.
I absolutely love roller coasters! I can't even imagine one that goes 128 miles per hours, thats extreme! The fastest coaster I have been on goes almost 80 miles per hour and has an awesome death spiral that compresses your spine into the seat car. My dad also loves coaster and would die to go on that one!
/\ It is wonderful to live only 20 miles from that behomoth. I am a rollercoaster enthusiast so naturally, I been on it! I believe the one you are talking about is Nitro, also found at Six Flags Great Adventure which goes 80 miles per hour, drops 230 feet, and has the insane helix(death spiral).
In that region they always tend to want to do things bigger, faster and taller than everyone else so the same goes for a roller coaster ride. The ticket price to go on that must be just as outrageous as the ride itself.
