Best Company To Work For In The World

If you are not happy working where you currently do I advice you not to read this article.

American Way Magazine recently republished a story about a company name Motek. This article breaks down the business strategy that they have in place at this software development company which has proven to be successful for years running. The primary focus of the business model is the employee. The Motek business model suggests that the most valuable resource is the employee and implements ways of ensuring that their employees can be as productive as possible while keeping turnover rate at what has to be a record low for any software company. The environment and democratic way that business is done and is very impressive. I will not explain further to prevent butchering any information from the article but I could see some of the policies being put into effect at many other companies and it making a HUGE difference in their every day business.

Best Company To Work For In The World History & Civil Business Politics

While the perks that are provided by Motek are appealing, it doesn't make business sense for most companies. First off, we must realize that Motek only employs 23 people. That is a far cry from most IT shops out there. With that small of an employee base, it is in their best interest to keep employees around for a long time.
Also realize that smaller companies are more apt to give their employees special benefits for the same reason. I worked for a small IT company when I was in college and we had free vending machines. We also had preferred parking and a few other benefits. As companies get larger, these perks then to disintegrate, or evolve into other benefits like better retirement funds, or employee discount programs.
The company I work for presently is one of the largest IT corporations in the world. I receive employee discounts on HW and SW merchandise, employee discounts through customers of ours such as lending agencies, automobile dealers, wireless cellular providers, etc. I also receive a 100% match on up to 6% of my salary that I contribute to my 401k, and 15 vacation days with 6 additional personal holidays a year and regular holidays off. This might seem not as flashy as what Motek is offering but it is better than nothing.
