Pawnee. A confederacy belonging to the Caddoan family. The most interesting historical link to the Pawnee was the early Europeans referring to them as "Turks". This apparently was due to the fact that the explorers thought they looked like middle eastern turkish people. Some of this was due to the way they did their scalp-lock of hair.
