Fencing Around Your Home

Do you have any fencing around your home? What kind, eg privacy wooden fence, chain link, other? Did you have someone install it professionally or did you install it yourself? I personally like the idea of fencing around a house, as it not only provides privacy in some cases, but also secures your family and loved ones. My current home has a chain link fence in the backyard. The house I am moving into in 3 weeks does not have its own fence, but the neighbors have their own, so most of the backyard is already fenced. Some people go above and beyond by fencing all around, even the front.

Home Your Fencing

The house that I currently live in has a completely fenced backyard and partially fenced front yard. The backyard is 75% six foot privacy fence. The back of the fence opposite my house stares into an overgrown field with a four foot chain link fence across. The front yard has four foot chain on either side at the property line and runs out just short of the road. All of this fence was present at the time of purchase. I do intend on replacing the chain link is the back with a matching six foot privacy fence just to uniform the yard and cut down visibility to anyone walking in the field. I have pondered adding a fence across the front adding a gated driveway but I am afraid with the layout of my yard it would start to look more like a prison than a home.
