Active Whois

Do you often do whois lookups on domains? There are many free utilities available for download that generally work fairly well. Active Whois can be downloaded from Download.com free of charge. This is however a shareware product rather than freeware. After 30 days it does require activation. It is a 20$ US purchase but I find this program really easy to use as well as it does give me a lot of information and organizes it well. I have purchased it myself and have been very happy with it. There is also a plug-in for Firefox available for download that I have only downloaded tonight. Same story here as it is 30 days free before activation.

Have you used Active Whois? What do you think of it as a shareware product? Is it worth the 20$ activation charge?

Whois Active

I would not have even considered this if not for the Firefox plug-in. Whois function is built in to one of my favorite network utilities, Sam Spade. Iris network scanner also has it built in, but neither incorporate it into Firefox. I have it install now, don't know if I would buy it, but it may come in handy.
