Just in your own opinion of course....
Does racing a monster truck actually require any skill or is it purely the machine that wins or looses the race?
Personally I believe that it depends much on the arena that is being raced in. The smaller strait tracks do not require anything other than holding the wheel strait and punching the gas while small oval tracks (Jumps in many cases) require you to time and judge steering for speed and agility. In these more complex situations I believe skill has as much to do with it has the equipment.
Monster truck racing actually takes allot more skill than people realize. Monster trucks cannot turn as efficiently as other vehicles and have to worry about landings an such since they are much bigger. The balance problems during jumps and turns requires the driver to have a much better feel for the vehicle than is other wise portrayed. Someone who doesn't know what they are doing will end up on their back or side very early in the race.
