As a bonus, one player from each team will also have the honor of wearing a specialized boot just for them. Some of the players named are Podolski from Germany and Messi from Argentina. Something to look forward to during the tournament.

Boots Football Cup World
A specialized boot? Has this ever been done before, I can't find that it has. I may tune in to watch just to see what the boot looks like. I know thats a lame idea to watch but I think that was their idea the whole time, get more viewers. However, it looks like the US may have a descent team despite their lack of super stars, so I will be tuning in at least for a few games. Wonder if one of the US players will be wearing a special boot?

I don't believe this has ever been done before. One player will be selected from every team to wear a specialized version of the team boot. I couldn't find the list for each team. I did however, find the design of all the teams. I hope they wear these all the time, it would really add to the game.

I love the US boot, its got a little picture of Uncle Sam! I had not intended to watch the world cup this year, but this really adds something different to the games. I think I will tune in to watch at least the US games, this should be fun this year! Great thread to open up Male, I think that this will spark more people to watch the World Cup this year, especially in countries where its not real big like the US.

This is an odd gimmick and I fear one that is destined to fail. The problem is every player is contracted to different boot makers so there will be a lot of players who can't wear the boots from each team. I can't see what advantage these boots offer players who are accustomed to their own boots and must now re-adjust.
Long gone are the days when wearing bright coloured boots makes you a target for vicious tackles and jibes on the field.
This opinion is coming from player who used to wear red-boots!

Arvhic makes a good point. Brazilian striker Ronaldo has been suffering from blisters recently, hampering his playing ability. One wonders whether this has anything to do with the new boot contract he recently signed, and having to wear new boots that he has not gotten accustomed to yet?
