As everywhere in the US, citizens of DC enjoy complete freedom of religion as guaranteed under the First Amendment. There are multiple synagogues in the city and Jews are free to celebrate where they please and how they please. As far as famouns jews go, there are 29 members of Congress who are Jewish and live in DC for a goodly part of the year. The most famous are undoubtedly Senators Barbara Boxer, Dianne Feinstein, Al Franken, Chuck Schumer, who leads the Democratic Minority, and Bernie Sanders, who recently nearly beat Clinton to run for president on the Democrat ticket. In the house there are 19 Jews, Debbie Wasserman Schultz is probably the most famous.
