When you consider that this Sygate Personal Firewall is free you cannot help but be amazed at the features. The one draw back I had about this product is that it would not save my settings with regards to which applications are allowed net access and which are not. The other down side is that since Norton took it over they do not make any updates to it so that they can promote their own.

Firewall Personal Sygate
I am currently trying this out for myself. My router just died and I don't have the resources to replace it yet. I have downloaded a trial copy to see if it works well. I chose this because it has a great internet connection sharing option that I need because I have my laptop I want to connect to the internet as well. I also am building a server that will be a fileserver that will need to access the internet.
