The way most LDS talk about BYU I thought they would get a better number, but I believe they lack a diverse set of majors - it seems they are mostly known for business. Probably if they start promoting more science or medical research?

BYU doesn't have a medical school at all. However, they do have a very strong law school, as well as very good science programs. Their engineering majors, while not in the top 10 or 20, are very solid, with a lot of innovative things going on.

BYU's liberal arts programs are very, very good. Some really excellent music and art majors available. They also have one of the leading International Studies programs available.

On the engineering side, there is a lot of practical types of engineering, such as manufacturing engineering, construction management, electrical engineering technology, and facilities management. One of my big disappointments with BYU is that there are no architecture nor industrial engineering programs.

Actually, I think that, for its size, BYU does have a very diverse assortment of majors.

Well, at first glance I thought 74 was a low number, but then again, this is out of 1400. So, it isn't all that low, in reality. I am not surprised about how high on the list they are when it comes to value. The tuition for students who are also members of the Church really is incredible.
