
UNITED CHURCH CONSIDERS BOYCOTT OF BOTTLED WATER
The United Church of Canada may ask its members to stop buying bottled water.

I don't know what to think about this. If they feel strongly about it, then I suppose it is valid, but I don't know that a boycott the week before is going to help things. Once it gets passed, they are done for, because everyone has to drink water. This is something we just don't see in the United States as we pay water companies and the city to provide drinkable water to our houses. Its odd seeing a dispute like this since its so out of the norm for me. I think if they are really against this then they should do something more dramatic like a protest, something that can make a difference before the vote. Boycotts rarely work even though they are used allot.
The United Church of Canada boycott products from Israeli settlements
The church's General Council voted today to call on its members to avoid buying products coming from Israeli settlements in the occupied Palestinian territories. Ref. Source 2
