They Made Me Believe I Won

JUST IMAGINE! PAPER'S MISTAKE HAD MAN BELIEVING HE WON LOTTO

Elation turned to despair for a Quebec man last weekend when a mistake in a Montreal newspaper led him to believe he had a winning ticket in last weekend's $43.2-million Lotto 6-49 jackpot.

You can't help but feel really sorry for this guy. I wouldn't even like to imagine the disappointment and dismay that he must have gone through after thinking that he had won millions of dollars!

I don't know however whether he should get compensation for the newspaper company having printed the wrong numbers in their papers, at the end of the day, he could have quite easily have double checked that he was a winner with the lotto company.

Either way, it's a real shame for this guy, in my opinion.

Oh no! Poor guy, I can imagine the disappointment he must have felt. I think he got a bit excited (who wouldn't?) The Newspaper should give him a little compensation for the mistake, nothing big but something to cheer him up and pay for the mistake.

WOW...at least this guy wasn't unhappy with his job! Could you imagine walking in with a smile on your face and quitting a job you didn't like because you are now suddenly rich. Only later you find out you were duped by a mistake made by the paper! This could have been A LOT worse.

Imagine if the poor fellow had a heart attack, or an embolism? What then? I don't know about suing the paper, but I agree they should compensate him for the mistake.

Technically, it didn't cost anything - the man didn't lose any money over it or go into debt because of it (at least the article didn't mention that he did anything like that), and he didn't lose his job over it. However, it did cause him great distress, and it would be a smart thing for the paper to at least acknowledge that - and dig deep to do so.

In my opinion.
