MOTHER MURDERED IN FRONT OF TODDLER
A two-year-old Christchurch toddler sat strapped in her car seat as her 24-year-old mother was stabbed to death in the front seat of their car yesterday.

This was a terrible crime, and appears that the young mother knew the offender makes it somehow worse.
I don't know how a child that has witnessed their mother being stabbed to death in front of them can ever really get over this type of detrimental emotional damage. My guess is that the toddler will carry some sort of mental damage for life.
My heart goes out to this family.
