Satan in Islam

Does Islam also have a 'Satan' who tempts men like the Christian version of Satan?

Islam Satan

Islam's Satan is not like the Satan of the Bible, either part really. The OT Satan is simply an adversary that challenges humanity and has full access to the courts of God, but Satan is not that in Islam either.

QUOTE

The Satan of Islam was a "Jinn", created from fire as all Jinns were and still are.  Angels were and still are created from light.  While Angels and Jinns are considered "Angels" in Islam, because they were created from the same material (fire is light, and light is fire), but Jinns are lower than the Angels, because Jinns are like humans; they do sin, while the Angels are perfect and Sinless.  The similarity between Angels and Jinns is like the similarity between humans and animals.  Created from almost the same material, but two different WORLDS.

But there are striking similarities that link the two concepts of a Satan who is Iblis is the Quran. He was separated as distinct from the other Jinn when he refused to bow down to Adam in Chapter 18 of the Quran.
