Prejudice and Pride

2 starblue.gif' />

I loved this movie! I liked how they really tried to get you to feel what Elizabeth was feeling, and the chemistry between her and Mr. Darcy was great. I also really liked the realistic way they portrayed the dances - which were likely more sweaty and loud than portrayed in many films of the same period.

I think the biggest complaint anyone could have about it is that it doesn't sufficiently cover the book's material, but there is so much good stuff in the book, and it would be impossible in a feature-length movie to get everything in!

Another complaint is likely that it cannot compare to the now classic 1995 BBC version with Colin Firth and a good 5 hours. But I think the new movie should be looked at as simply another version done under different circumstances (the 1995 version was a TV mini-series). From both movies, there are actors that I preferred in their certain character over the other. Rather than replacing the old version, this movie simply adds another view from someone else's take on the book. I say, if you love the story, watch this movie!

<img src= Edited: Dimavo on 26th May, 2006 - 6:36pm

Pride & Prejudice Sports & Fashion Music Movies

This is my new favorite movie! How very well done this production is, and the chemistry between the actors is terrific. Mr. Darcy looks like a young Tommy Lee Jones, don't you think? I'm almost ashamed to admit that I've watched it a dozen times already, and we just bought the DVD a month ago.

Prejudice and Pride

The story is based on Jane Austen's novel about five sisters - Jane, Elizabeth, Mary, Kitty and Lydia Bennet - in Georgian England. Their lives are turned upside down when a wealthy young man (Mr. Bingley) and his best friend (Mr. Darcy) arrive in their neighborhood.
