What is the general view or doctrine on Birth Control for Mormons?

The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints have always discouraged the use of any type of birth control. In the old times, some Prophets had talk specifically against it. Nowdays, the Church position is that the number of children and the spacing between them is a decision of the couple who should pray to the Lord for guidance on this matter.
